What is a F Type RF Connector
F type rf connectors are mainly used for TV antennas for digital terrestrial broadcasting and satellite broadcasting reception. Some types use the coaxial core wire (center conductor) as a contact. There is also an F (C15) type that rf conforms to the technical standards of the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association. It can be mated with the normal F.
Some F type RF connectors are available for purchase from Digi-Key.

- Compliant with US military standards for cables. Begins with the initials "RG" and is also called Mil-Spec.
F Type RF Connector Features
Easy Installation
F connectors use the center conductor of the cable as the center contact and are available in a ring type for easy installation with pliers or other tools. The F connector can be easily mounted without special mounting tools. However, the caulking ring type is easier to pull out than the type that uses the center contact.

F Type RF Connector FAQ
Q
Do I need a special tool for installation?
A
We have a connector that uses the center conductor of a coaxial cable as the center pin and can be easily installed with a pair of pliers to attach the ring for crimping.
Q
What are the main applications for these connectors?
A
Generally, connectors connect TV sets and antennas for receiving terrestrial, cable, and satellite broadcasts.
Q
What is F (C15)?
A
This connector conforms to the technical standards of the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) for use in receiving satellite broadcasts. Since it uses a higher frequency band than conventional terrestrial broadcasting, it performs better to match the frequency band.
