Lead Free Connectors

We have developed connectors that use lead-free free-cutting brass. We use GloBrass, made by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation.

We have adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework designed by the United Nations. Our entire company is working to achieve them as our environmental policy.

Lead is harmful to the human body and the environment.

Environmental regulations such as the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and ELV (End of Life Vehicles) directives are increasingly being adopted worldwide.

In addition, the social responsibility of companies is increasing, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030 that were introduced at the 2015 United Nations Sustainable Development Summit.

To contribute to these efforts, To-Conne has embarked on the development of lead-free connectors.

All our connectors comply with the RoHS Directive, which specifies a lead threshold of 1,000 ppm. The copper alloy used in our connectors contains the minimal amount of lead required for machinability.

Lead up to 40,000 ppm is recognized as an exemption. The exemption's expiry is reviewed periodically, and deliberations are held regarding its renewal or expiration.

In recent years, lead-free copper alloys with good machinability have begun to be distributed. Exemptions will be introduced as alternatives become more available. We worked on developing lead-free connectors, fearing that they might be revoked.

As a starting point for development targets, we are developing the following two lead-free connectors as custom-made products. We can also manufacture other products, so feel free to contact us.
